O'Hare International Airport Terminal 5 TSA Advanced Surveillance Program

The IP Video Surveillance System (IPVSS) is one of the most critical components of TSA’s high-priority security at Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5). It’s used by both the Administration and the Chicago Department of Aviation to monitor all check-ins at ORD’s international terminal, T5.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

As part of a terminal-wide program, JWI managed the construction and installation of hundreds of cameras, electrical wiring, and other necessary equipment for the IPVSS at O’Hare. The TSA Advanced Surveillance Program project furnished all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and service, including the installation of over 700 CCTV cameras, communication cables, the IPVSS storage system, and electrical wiring and other required equipment. The project included the restoration of all finishes as well.

JWI also provided construction scheduling and computer-aided design services for Hartmann Electric. Scheduling services included the baseline project schedule as well as monthly updates.  Computer-aided design services involved all as-built documentation.  This project was only one part of a terminal-wide program that JWI also managed.
