March Project Spotlight: IAH Terminal B Transformation Program

Exciting progress is underway in Houston as JWI helps bring 26 new passenger boarding bridges to life as part of the Terminal B Transformation (TBT) program!

JWI is currently serving as the Passenger Boarding Bridge subject matter expert on this program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston for United Airlines. This effort includes installing passenger boarding bridges to modernize operations and enhance the passenger experience in the brand-new, ground-up Terminal B.

Our involvement spans the full lifecycle of the bridges. From early concept planning and design consultation through factory inspections, manufacturing oversight, acceptance testing, and approval, our team has been deeply embedded to ensure quality and performance. As the bridges moved from production to the field, we supported delivery planning, logistics coordination, on-site receipt and storage, and now full installation and commissioning.

Current Phase: Delivery and Installation

The project is now in the active delivery and installation phase. Six bridges have been delivered to the site, and two have been hung, marking a major milestone for the program. The remaining bridges are being received in a carefully phased sequence, aligned with overall construction progress across the Terminal B Transformation program.

As the additional 20 bridges arrive, JWI is coordinating closely with the broader TBT team to manage logistics, staging, installation sequencing, and integration with adjacent scopes. This disciplined approach ensures each bridge is installed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with the larger terminal transformation.
