Denver International Airport (DEN) has witnessed remarkable technological advancements since its opening in 1995, and the journey continues with comprehensive upgrades. JWI is proud to be a part of the Denver IPMSS (Integrated Project Management Support Services), and we are thrilled to showcase some of the intricate work involved for our project spotlight!
The Concourse B Wayfinding Refresh is set to revolutionize navigation at DEN. Scheduled to begin this month and conclude at the end of this year, the project encompasses the replacement of existing signage in Concourse B with the new DEN standard signage developed during the Concourse Expansion Projects. This initiative includes the installation of 46 Gate Identification Signs, new Digital Flight Information Display banks, and streamlined general wayfinding signs, reducing overall sign clutter.
Another project included in DEN IPMSS is the Parking Revenue Control System (PRCS) project, which involves the complete overhaul of the parking revenue control system across the entire airport. Completed at the end of 2023, this project has enabled the pre-booking of reserved parking in select premium lots, seamless payment using existing E-470 toll tags, and convenient pay-on-foot options at one of the long-term parking lots.
IPMSS includes extensive and meticulously planned work for years to come. As part of our commitment to evolving security measures, the replacement of the Physical Access Control System (PACS) at DEN is a pivotal ongoing program. Recognized as one of the world’s largest and technically complex access control systems, PACS necessitates multiple integrations with other security and fire alarm components. The robust PACS will surpass TSA 1542 regulatory requirements, with program completion anticipated before the end of 2027.
