June Project Spotlight: Roadway Asset Management Transformation

This month’s Project Spotlight features our work with Cook County on the Systemwide Roadway Pavement and Asset Management Program.

This project showcases our people’s range of capabilities to update, improve, and strengthen infrastructure. Under the leadership of John Farsatis, PE, the team is underway cataloging and assessing pavement, signage, and other various roadside assets that are visible from a roadway automated vehicle-based system data collection across Cook County.

This program leverages a 4-pillar enterprise asset management framework (EAMF) to expedite the review of CCDOTH’s current system and make recommendations. The JWI team applied industry best practices, standards, experience, expertise, and considerations of CCDOTH’s unique case in these efforts. This 4-pillar approach includes gap analysis for Organizational and Institutional Data, Business Processes, and Technology.

JWI is eager to continue to support CCDOTH with a clear roadmap that helps to shape a smarter and more resilient future for Cook County’s transportation infrastructure.
