Illinois Tri-State Tollway Construction Management Upon Request, Plaza 35, 36 & 39

JWI was the construction manager in a joint venture with Gonzalez Construction to reconstruct the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and several plaza improvements.

This main contract provided roadway rehabilitation along I-294 between the Mile Long Bridge and 95th Street and worked at Plaza 35, 82nd Street Toll Plaza (Southbound Plaza 36), and 83rd Street Toll Plaza (Northbound Plaza 39). Work included the reconstruction of the concrete median barrier, retaining wall and inside shoulders, pavement and shoulder patching, ITS work, drainage, roadway lighting, signage, erosion control, pavement markings, and landscaping. The work at Plaza 39 also included widening the Open Road Tolling (ORT) pavement for future flex lane use and adding an I-PASS Only lane under the plaza canopy.
