George Bush International Airport (IAH) Mickey Leland International Terminal (MLIT)

Overview

JWI performed Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services for the IAH MLIT Project. Working with the Austin-Gilbane Joint Venture, JWI is responsible for providing both Project Management and Safety Management services to support the growth of IAH, which includes the reconstruction and integration of the existing Terminal C North and Terminal D into a new single common-use international facility – The Mickey Leland International Terminal (MLIT).

This project’s scope included the addition of international gate capacity to meet airline requirements for airline anticipated growth and replacement of aging infrastructure, ensuring a focus on the maintainability and total cost of ownership of new assets. Building design and envelope, contact gates, and passenger processing facilities were all essential items required by the airlines. The project also focuses on increasing and maximizing revenue for non-airline sources through vehicles such as concessions. The project is completing the update and expansion while maintaining existing operations and several wide-body gates during construction.
