Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) I-90 Kennedy Expressway Reversible Lane Control System (REVLAC)

Overview

JWI is serving as the Resident Engineer for the IDOT REVLAC project providing Phase III engineering services. Our team oversees construction inspection activities for the improvements along I-90 at Foster Ave. and Lawrence Ave. to Ohio Street and the rehabilitation of the existing Kennedy Expressway Reversible Lanes. The scope of work includes rehabbing the Reversible Lane Access Control System (REVLAC) that allows reversible traffic flow along I-90-94; refurbishment and replacement of existing swing gates assemblies and the gate arms; replacement of existing impact restraining barriers; removal of existing DC control cabling and replacing with fiber optic cable; and improvements to the nodal building power systems. Julio and the team are working on the coordination of maintenance transfer of the electrical cabinets, running fiber optic cables, and installing handholes.
