Illinois Tollway Elgin O’Hare Western Access, I-490 at I-90 Interchange

JWI is performing as an Electrical Engineer, providing project oversight and construction management services. The project consists of many site improvements including but not limited to the construction of Eastbound and Westbound Ramps for I-90 requiring tolling collection capabilities, bridge pavement reconstruction on Elmhurst Road, retaining wall construction, the installation of overhead sign structure and foundations, and transition slabs for the bridges. This project also includes a number of new ITS elements such as roadway lighting installations, fiber optic duct and cable installation, traffic signal installation, and ITS device relocations. As a part of any major road and highway project, there are utility requirements including earthwork, grading, and drainage work requiring the installation of sewers, catch basins, manholes, etc. A new IPDC building is also included in the scope of work.
