San Diego International Airport (SAN) Terminal 1 Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs)

Overview

JWI is providing subject matter expert guidance and advice as requested throughout the design process. We regularly participate in design meetings and provide feedback and comments on constructibility. JWI receives, logs, and coordinates with the Engineer of Record on the review of submittals and coordinates with the team for the acceptance/exception and or resubmission of submittals while tracking and reporting the status update for TFJV during owner meetings.

We receive, log, and direct the PBB RFIs to the proper responder as well as report on the status of each RFI. We engage vendors and solicit estimates and option pricing as necessary, including bid package alerts, while leading the preparation of the procurement documents and participating in the qualification/ proposal review/recommendation process to award the PBB construction contract.

We manage all phases of manufacturing, delivery, staging/storage of PBBs, and all associated equipment and components. We conduct regular progress site walks to check the progress of the PBB work as compared to the overall project schedule and alert our client of any variances.

JWI coordinates with adjacent projects and/or stakeholders in order to avoid conflicts or rework in the field and represents our client at owner meetings to field any PBB-related questions from the airport or their representatives. We conduct Quality Assurance field inspections to confirm that field installation aligns with the Contract Documents and approved submittals while providing weekly PBB progress reports for internal and external reporting.
