Chicago Department of Aviation, O’Hare International Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility and Parking Structure (CONRAC)

Overview

The Consolidated Car Rental Facility (CONRAC) and parking structure at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is a multi-modal transportation center that combines various modes of travel – airline, light transit, rail, bus, shuttle, and both rental and privately-owned vehicles – all at one location. The CONRAC is necessary for facilitating travel within the Chicago region and to destinations throughout the world.

At more than 3 million sq. ft., the facility is one of the most significant structures in the Midwest. Three floors are dedicated to rental car operations, and two to public parking. The building’s functional and visual focal point is the Customer Service Center and the Airport Transit System station. The design combines these two operations into one space, creating another “terminal” for the airport.

JWI is proud to have served Austin Power Partners (APP), the CMAR for the project, as QA/QC Manager, BIM Coordinator, and Project Scheduler. Throughout the project, JWI provided superior on-site support to the APP project team from pre-construction through project closeout.
