North Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Authority (NSMJAWA) 90” Water Main Hot Tap & Line Plug

JWI provided scheduling, safety, and construction management services for ISTHA Contract I-14-4641, the NSMJAWA 90” Hot Tap and Line Plug along the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90). Located between Elmhurst Road and Higgins Creek (Mile Post 73.5 to Mile Post 74.3), the nature of this project was the design and construction observation of the Thrust Restraint System (TRS) to allow for the live tapping of the 90” NSMJAWA water main, which was subsequently relocated to allow for the expansion of I-90. JWI was responsible for the initial setup of the construction schedule in coordination with Tollway CPM, progress and status updates, as well as a project safety plan and quality review that included onsite observation.

This project was a recipient of an ACEC 2017 Engineering Excellence Honor Award.
