Overview
JWI performed program management services for Alaska Airlines in their Virgin America (VX) Integration Project. The program scope included providing expertise to Alaska Airlines in a number of different disciplines, such as site survey analysis, contractor analysis and recommendations, preconstruction coordination and scheduling, overseeing overall project construction, maintaining project schedule and budget, resolution of field constructability issues, ensuring contractor compliance of the plans and specifications, millwork procurement, project documentation, and maintaining project transparency to the leadership team at Alaska Airlines. The program touched every aspect of Alaska and Virgin’s operations at and around the airports from ticketing to gate areas, administrative offices to hangars and cargo facilities.
JWI maintained all necessary coordination with other airlines and airport operations that were affected during construction, working hand-in-hand with Alaska Airlines to ensure consistency throughout and to minimize impact to operations. JWI provided complete project administration functions, kept all information up-to-date and available to Alaska Airlines, and provided weekly status updates as well as weekly project meetings to keep constant communication for all project activities.
