River Forest Public Library Lobby and Staff Area Renovations

JWI served as the General Contractor for the River Forest Public Library Lobby and Staff Area project, renovating approximately 1600 SF of employee office, break room, and lobby areas. As General Contractors, we were responsible for interior demolition, rough and finish carpentry, and metal work.

Intricate millwork and wood paneling were fabricated to align with the library’s existing upscale and historical finishes. In the children’s activity and reading room, an additional 1200 SF received new carpet tiles and paint colors on the walls.

The long lead on the intricate millwork and wood paneling required quick fabrication turnaround times and approval of finishes from the owner. However, JWI’s close communication and planning with critical decision-makers allowed us to complete the work within the Contract schedule.

JWI was also careful to perform the work at a noise level that would not unduly disrupt patrons and staff.
